"Dorothy Cooper MANHATTEN, Kan.---Dorothy Bruce Cooper, 89, of Manhattan, Kan., died Thursday, Nov. 20, at the St. Joseph Senior Community in Manhattan. She was the wife of the late Ralph G. Cooper, whom she married May 29, 1931. Born Dec.28, 1907, in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of Arthur A. and Ruth Glazier Bruce. She was a graduate of Weaver High School in hartford and the Boston School of Domestic Science, and attended the University of Connecticut. She lived most of her life in Connecticut and moved to Kansas in 1991. A homemaker while her children were young, she later worked for the Hitchcock Chair Company in Riverton and the Keratene Company in Winsted. She was a member of the Colebrook Congregational Church, Past matron of the Victory Grange, the Colebrook Associates, the Colebrook Historical Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a Past Worthy Matron for the Magnolia Lodge of the O.E.S. in Winsted. Sheis survived by one daughter, Mary G. Falcone of Wethersfield; two sons, Peter B. Cooper of Manhattan, Kan., and David G. Cooper of New York City; one sister, Marion Weltman of Oldsmar, Fla.; one brother, wilbert Swift of Narbeth, Pa.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Spencer Bruce. Cremation is planned, with memorial servicesto be at a later date in Colebrook. The Edwards-Yorgensen-Meloan Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, Kan. 66502,is in charge of arrangements."
