Pinney, The Hartford Courant, 15 May 1902, downloaded and transcribed 21 Nov. 2006: Harvey W. Pinney. Harvey W. Pinney died in Winsted at the residence of his son, L. V. Pinney, at 1 o'clock yesterday morning of bronchial pneumonia, after an illness of four weeks. The body will be taken to Colebrook for burial to-morrow. There will be no funeral services. Mr. Pinney was born December 16, 1811 in Mill Brook, where he resided all his life. He spent his boyhood on the farm, but became a proficient violinist and finally abandoned the farm and gave his time to teaching dancing and playing. On October 23, 1850, he married Harriet A. Wakefield of Colebrook. He represented the town of Colebrook in the Legislature in 1851 and was also postmaster at Mill Brook for about thirty years.
