He then boarded a train for the 9 mile trip to Hartford. He graduated in 1900. He raised 12 acres of tobacco,and also served as Town Clerk, Selectman, and a member of the Bloomfield Town Planning Association. He became Superintendent of Highways in Bloomfield, and general inspector of Highways and Sewers in West Hartford, per Leon H.
