Per : In 1892, William Edwin Barnard founded W.E. Barnard and Son. In 1907 Harrison B. Barnard, William's son, assumed leadership and changed the firm's name to H.B. Barnard. Thirty years later, in 1937, H.B. Barnard was incorporated as the H.B. Barnard Company and, as such, continues to this day. William B. Barnard, grandson of the founder, became president in 1952. In 1974 James B. Barnard, the fourth generation, joined the firm and has been the firm's president since 1996. From its inception, the company has occupied only four different office locations, all within Chicago's loop area. H. B. Barnard Company has been a member of the Builder's Association of Chicago since 1944. Over the years, H.B. Barnard has been responsible for building a wide variety of structures. Hospitals. Churches and factories. Seminaries. Single family residences and apartment buildings. Fire stations and fraternity houses. Industrial complexes. Commercial office buildings. Each and every project built with a painstaking attention to detail and pride in the traditions of craftsmanship.
